3D RENDERINGS

For decades the manufacturers of floor and wall coverings have had a problem – producing photographs of interiors for advertising purposes is very expensive. And even with highly sophisticated interior set-ups, much remains difficult. For example, it´s hard to capture in a photograph the texture of the floor and wall coverings, and to then print that image in sufficient detail. So the very thing that is meant to win over customers is unconvincing.

The solution to this problem, as to so many others, lies in digitalisation. Because the texture of surfaces such as wood, metal, ceramics and stone can be scanned with utmost precision and detail using high-end devices. Once that texture is available in digital form, it can then be “transposed” onto surfaces in the form of panels, boards and strips using classic prepress techniques. Highly skilled design professionals can reproduce astonishingly realistic images to fit the required purpose. Thanks to digitalisation, continuous spatial sequences can be produced in this way – and it´s all on the computer. The digitally generated rooms can extend up to 500 square meters in floor area and even include suspended ceilings. The floor and wall coverings are presented in this way to best effect, and all without the high cost of conventional studio photography. High-resolution 3D renderings will in future be the preferred choice for many situations where flexibility is required. The quality of the textures, their rapid interchangeability and rational, cost-effective changes to camera settings, are key features of this pro
